Salary
Up to R1 800 000 per annum (depending on experience)
What you'll be doing:
- Partnering with clients to understand their data needs and deliver scalable solutions
- Designing, building, and supporting high-availability data pipelines and storage systems such as warehouses and data lakes
- Applying agile development practices including TDD, CI/CD, and pair programming
- Automating infrastructure and deployment processes for data environments
- Guiding and mentoring client teams to strengthen their data engineering capabilities
- Driving adoption of agile and data best practices across the organisation
What we’re looking for:
- Extensive experience with large-scale data pipelines, platforms, and processing systems
- Strong programming skills – ideally in Python or Scala
- Proven track record working with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Hands-on expertise with databases, warehouses, and distributed file systems
- Advanced SQL skills and solid grounding in data modelling
- Familiarity with data governance, GDPR, and data security principles
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible) and CI/CD pipelines
- Ability to collaborate closely with data scientists and BI teams, supporting them with clean, well-prepared data
- Excellent communication skills, with experience working effectively in remote, distributed teams
